Shooting Stars Appoint Salisu Yusuf As Technical Adviser

Shooting Stars Sports Club have appointed experienced Nigerian tactician, Coach Salisu Yusuf, as the club’s new Technical Adviser ahead of the 2026/27 football season.

The Oluyole Warriors announced the appointment in a statement signed by the club’s management, describing Yusuf as a seasoned coach with more than two decades of managerial experience.

Yusuf began his coaching career with Nasarawa United in 2002 and has since handled several prominent Nigerian clubs, including Kano Pillars, Rangers International and Enyimba. He was most recently in charge of Coton Sport in Benin.

At the international level, Yusuf has served as an assistant coach of the Super Eagles and also handled the Super Eagles B and Nigeria U-23 teams. In 2018, he guided the home-based Super Eagles to the final of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco.

According to Shooting Stars, Yusuf’s extensive experience, knowledge of Nigerian football and ability to develop homegrown talent were among the key factors behind his appointment.

The club expressed confidence that the new Technical Adviser would provide the tactical leadership, expertise and winning mentality needed as the Oluyole Warriors pursue their ambitions in domestic and continental competitions.

Shooting Stars also welcomed Yusuf to the club and wished him a successful tenure.

The appointment comes as the Ibadan-based club prepares for a return to continental football after securing qualification for the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.
