Protest Erupts Over Alleged Torture, Killing Of University Of Jos Graduate Accused Of IPhone Theft
Protesters have taken to the streets demanding justice for Ibrahim Mbaya, popularly known as Ibee, a University of Jos graduate who was allegedly tortured to death after being accused of stealing an iPhone 12.
The demonstrators condemned the incident, describing it as a clear case of jungle justice, and called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of everyone involved in the alleged killing.
Carrying placards and chanting solidarity songs, the protesters insisted that no individual should be tortured or killed over an allegation without being given the opportunity to face due legal process.
They described Ibee’s death as a tragic reminder of the dangers of mob violence and urged security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
The protesters also called on the government and law enforcement authorities to intensify efforts to end jungle justice and uphold the rule of law across the country.
