LASU Convocation: Sanwo-Olu Rewards Best Graduating Students With ₦20m Each
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has rewarded the two best overall graduating students of Lagos State University (LASU) with a cash gift of ₦20 million each.
Sanwo-Olu presented the awards on Wednesday at the 29th and 30th Convocation Ceremonies of LASU, where graduating students were celebrated for their academic achievements.
The governor said the occasion marked his final convocation visit to the university as Governor of Lagos State, adding that he considered it important to recognise exceptional dedication and academic excellence.
The recipients are Ayilara Lawal Olawale, a Project Management graduate who achieved a 4.96 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in the 2024/2025 academic session, and Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide, an Aerospace Engineering graduate who recorded a 4.97 CGPA in the 2025/2026 session.
According to Sanwo-Olu, reaching such an academic height requires relentless focus, discipline and dedication, noting that the two graduates had demonstrated what could be achieved through hard work.
He said Lagos State was proud of their accomplishments, assuring that his administration’s commitment to investing in the youth would remain firm until his final day in office.
“Lagos is deeply proud of you, I am proud of you and my commitment to investing in our youth remains firm through my very last day in office,” the governor said.
He also congratulated all the graduating students, acknowledging their hard work and describing them as deserving of the accolades that came with their achievements.
