MFM Choir Wins Gold, Emerges Champion At 2026 World Choir Games In Sweden
The Mountain Top Chorale of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has returned to Nigeria after emerging champion of the 2026 World Choir Games in Helsingborg, Sweden.
The Nigerian choir clinched gold in the Spiritual Category with an impressive 87.38 points before going on to win the Champions Competition, further cementing its place among the world’s leading choral groups.
The achievement was celebrated by the General Overseer of MFM, Dr Daniel Olukoya, who described the feat as a glorious moment for the Mountain Top Chorale and Nigeria.
In a social media post, Olukoya wrote: “A CHAMPION’S SOUND! GOLD FOR MOUNTAIN TOP CHORALE!”
He commended the choristers, conductor, leadership and everyone whose sacrifice, discipline and commitment contributed to the historic performance.
According to him, the victory was not merely a musical achievement but a demonstration of “discipline, excellence, dedication, teamwork and the power of using our gifts to glorify God.”
Olukoya added that the feat had brought honour and pride to Nigeria and the MFM family, noting that the choir had successfully raised the Nigerian flag on the global stage.
“From Nigeria to the world, Mountain Top Chorale has raised the banner high!” he said.
Conducted by Oluwasegun Okedunmola, the Mountain Top Chorale represented Nigeria at the 14th World Choir Games, which brought together choirs from across the world for a series of international choral competitions.
The 2026 edition, held from August 6 to 16 in Helsingborg, Sweden, featured more than 160 choirs and 8,500 participants from over 40 countries.
The Champions Competition brought together experienced choirs to compete at the highest level of international choral singing.
The Mountain Top Chorale’s success further underscores Nigeria’s rich musical talent and cultural heritage, while showcasing the country’s capacity to compete and excel at major international cultural events.
