Just-In: Airport Upgrade, Akande Ona Ara Assumes Leadership As Adekanbi Hands Over

Hon. Abimbola Adekanbi has officially handed over the affairs of the Office of the Chairman, Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport Upgrade Committee, to the newly appointed Chairman, Arc. Akande Ifeoluwa Ona Ara, Ph.D.

The handover marks a new chapter in the ongoing efforts to advance the upgrade, development and transformation of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport into a more modern, functional and efficient aviation facility.

The occasion also provided an opportunity to commend the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his vision, foresight and unwavering commitment to the development of the state.

Entrusting a prestigious legacy project of this magnitude to capable and competent hands further demonstrates the governor’s determination to deliver sustainable development and position Oyo State for greater economic opportunities.

The committee also appreciated Hon. Abimbola Adekanbi for his service, dedication and valuable contributions during his tenure as chairman, noting that his efforts contributed meaningfully to the progress of the airport upgrade initiative.

As Arc. Akande Ifeoluwa Ona Ara, Ph.D., assumes the responsibility, stakeholders expressed confidence that his experience, expertise and commitment will further advance the objectives of the committee and accelerate efforts towards the transformation of the airport.

The new leadership is expected to build on the progress already made while pursuing a renewed vision for the development.
