Veteran actor Yinka Quadri has revealed the emotional conversation he had with his longtime friend and colleague, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, shortly before the actor’s death.

Ogogo died on Sunday at the age of 66 and was buried the following day in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, according to Islamic rites.

Quadri, who was visibly emotional during the burial, described Ogogo as more than a friend, calling him his “twin brother from heaven.”

In a lengthy post shared on Instagram on Wednesday, the actor recalled visiting Ogogo at the hospital shortly before his death.

Quadri said he broke down in tears upon seeing his friend on the sick bed, but Ogogo reportedly tried to reassure him.

“I will never forget the last time I saw you at the hospital. You were lying on your sick bed, and when I saw you, I could not hold back my tears. You looked at me and said, ‘Yinka, don’t cry. Nothing bad will happen to me.’ And I responded, ‘Yes, Amen,’” Quadri recalled.

He said Ogogo later asked him to hand over a bottle of water, which he drank despite having eaten earlier that day.

According to Quadri, the moment strengthened his hope that Ogogo would recover.

“A few minutes later, you asked me to give you the bottle of water on the table. I gave it to you, and you drank from it,” he said.

Quadri added that Ogogo then asked him whether he could see that he had been able to drink the water despite having eaten that morning.

He said the doctors confirmed that Ogogo had indeed eaten earlier, prompting him to praise God and become even more hopeful.

“At that moment, I said ‘glory be to God’. My hope and faith became even stronger. But the doctors only advised us to remain prayerful,” Quadri said.

Quadri said he would forever cherish his relationship with Ogogo, whom he described as his heavenly twin.
