Nollywood actress Toyosi Adesanya has provided a fresh update on the health condition of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, saying the actor has been admitted to the operating theatre for treatment.

The development comes days after Ogogo’s family raised concerns over his health, revealing that the actor had been diagnosed with stage-four cancer.

One of his daughters, Kira, disclosed that the family discovered the cancer diagnosis about three weeks ago and that the disease had affected his abdomen.

According to her, some medical institutions had informed the family that they could no longer administer chemotherapy to the actor, prompting an appeal for recommendations on alternative treatment options.

The family also acknowledged the support of Senator Solomon Adeola, representing Ogun West, who had been assisting with Ogogo’s medical expenses.

Another daughter, Lima, said the senator had pledged to continue providing financial support for the actor’s treatment. She also explained that Ogogo was not fit to be flown abroad for treatment following a suggestion by socialite Yhemo Lee.

In a recent Instagram post, Adesanya disclosed that Senator Adeola had taken further steps by connecting the actor with top cancer specialists.

She said the intervention had resulted in Ogogo being admitted to the operating theatre for treatment.

“Senator Yayi personally reached out to top cancer specialists, and we are grateful to learn that Ogogo has now been admitted to the operating theatre for treatment,” she wrote.

The actress prayed for a successful procedure, complete recovery and renewed strength for the veteran actor.

“We pray for a successful procedure, complete recovery, renewed strength and many more years of good health for our beloved Nollywood legend,” she added.

Adesanya also expressed appreciation to everyone who had supported Ogogo and his family through prayers, suggestions and other forms of assistance.

A number of Ogogo’s colleagues, including Femi Adebayo, Muyiwa Ademola and Bimbo Oshin, had earlier joined calls for urgent medical intervention for the actor.

The latest development has sparked renewed hope among fans, colleagues and well-wishers, who continue to pray for Ogogo’s successful treatment and recovery.
