BREAKING: Adeleke Wins Osun Governorship Election
The incumbent Governor of Osun State and Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has won the 2026 Osun State governorship election, defeating his closest challenger, All Progressives Congress candidate Bola Oyebamiji, as well as the African Democratic Congress and other contestants.
Adeleke’s victory was driven by strong performances recorded by Accord across several local government areas, including Ede North, Ede South, Ife North, Ife Central, Ife East, Oshogbo, Iwo, Oriade, Odo Otin, Ila, Egbedore and Ayedaade.
In Ede North, Accord recorded 35,427 votes against APC’s 10,283, while in Ede South, Adeleke’s party secured 26,188 votes against the APC’s 6,219.
Accord also maintained a strong advantage in Ife East, where it polled 27,201 votes against APC’s 18,600, and in Oshogbo, where it recorded 36,480 votes against 30,474 for the APC.
The APC, however, secured significant victories in some local government areas, including Irewole, where it polled 29,972 votes against Accord’s 10,934, Boripe, where it recorded 19,963 against 12,448, and Ilesha East, where it secured 16,208 votes against Accord’s 12,280.
The party also led in Obokun and Atakunmosa East.
The results across the local government areas showed a competitive contest, with Accord maintaining stronger overall support despite the APC’s victories in several areas.
The ADC and other parties trailed the two leading contenders in the results supplied.
The victory secures Adeleke’s return to the Osun State Government House for another term, following a closely contested election across the state.
